Meet Our Team

Our Mission

We strive to be a trusted leader in promoting pain-free activity for equine athletes and companions by forming meaningful relationships with our clients, providing quality healthcare to their equine counterparts, and sharing our knowledge with the community.

Our team is made up of thoughtful, knowledgeable, and compassionate equine practitioners who actively participate in knowledge-building and life-long learning; in doing so, each team member is better able to provide quality healthcare that adapts alongside technology and as a result of continuing education.

Dr. Angela Reynolds, DVM, MSc

Dr. Reynolds graduated from the Western College of Vet Medicine in 2014 and completed an internship at Oakridge Equine Hospital in Oklahoma in 2015. Following this, she returned to the WCVM for a combined Master of Science and residency training program in Equine Practice. Dr. Reynolds achieved board certification in Equine Practice in 2018 through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.

As a board-certified equine specialist with a special interest in lameness and rehabilitation, Dr. Reynolds is passionate about keeping horses comfortable through all life stages.

Dr. Reynolds’ devotion to equine medical care is second to none; she is caring and compassionate, and to call her hard-working is an understatement.

Dr. Mikayla Swirski, DVM

Dr. Swirski joined the Rhythm team in December 2021 as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Swirski grew up in Langley, BC, where she showed a passion for horses at a young age. She has been riding for most of her life, and has enjoyed competing in eventing.

After completing her undergraduate degree in 2017, she moved to Saskatoon to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

Dr. Swirski graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021, and completed 6 months of internship training with the Equine Field Service team through the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2023, she became certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy.

Outside of work, Dr. Swirski enjoys spending time with her husband, horses, dogs, and cat.

Jerilyn Mongeau

Jerilyn joined the Rhythm team in the spring of 2021 as our full-time client care specialist. Jerilyn also manages our digital marketing. Before coming to Rhythm, Jerilyn owned her own business and has many years of experience in customer care.

Jerilyn grew up in Saskatoon and is a lifelong lover of all animals. In her spare time, Jerilyn loves spending time with her partner Chad, her two children, and her dogs, renovating her new acreage, and taking riding lessons.

Jerilyn is grateful to work with Rhythm and to be a part of a team that promotes horse health care and wellbeing.

Kayla Phillips

Kayla is the head veterinary assistant at Rhythm, and has been with the team since the spring of 2021. Kayla grew up in Saskatoon, and from a young age she knew horses would be a significant part of her life. After high school, Kayla graduated from the Veterinary Office Assistant program at McKay Career College. She went on to assist in teaching students with disabilities at Equilibrium Therapeutic Riding Center.

Following this, Kayla had the opportunity to train with three accomplished dressage riders/trainers in Denver, Colorado. Kayla is a proficient dressage rider and enjoys spending her free time with her horse Starbuck.

Shanna Watson

Shanna joined the Rhythm team in the fall of 2022 as a full-time veterinary assistant and client care specialist. Shanna grew up in Saskatoon and has always loved animals: cats, dogs, horses, goats, and even snakes! However, horses have always been her favourite, which made it an easy decision to choose an equine-oriented career.

Shanna is a graduate of the Olds College Equine Science program where she majored in equine production and breeding. She has extensive equine health experience through work at multiple large breeding farms, boarding barns, and Thoroughbred racetracks.

Shanna is currently a mom to one amazing son, two dogs, three cats, and one snake. She has just moved to an acreage and is excited to start adding horses and goats to her life again.

Wren Weber

Wren joined the Rhythm team in the fall of 2022 as a veterinary assistant and client care specialist. Wren’s passion for horses started at a young age and she has been hooked ever since. She spent several years as a groom for hunter/jumper riding programs, and still enjoys show jumping.

Wren has always been interested in horse health care, so joining the Rhythm team came naturally to her. In her spare time, Wren likes to rider her horse Elle and spend time outside walking her dog.
